Is training like this really necessary? Japan is quite westernised now. Surely I will be dealing with business people who will know how to interact with other international business people.

Yes, Japan is westernised to a certain extent. However it would be a mistake to underestimate the cultural differences that do exist. All societies have unwritten rules of conduct and behaviour which they are hardly conscious of or might find difficult to verbalise - until someone breaks them. The protocol of the Japanese business world is no exception to this - indeed they are probably more different than anywhere else. Although younger generation Japanese may be quite comfortable acting in a westernised way while abroad, back in their home country (where business is still dominated by more senior men) Japanese ways apply. Entering a business situation in deliberate ignorance of such rules can put you and your organisation's goals in serious jeopardy.

I've been to Japan before. Will I still benefit from this training?
Our tutorial is essential for first time visitors or those with only minimal experience of Japanese business, but the more experienced visitor will also find it a crucial source of insights to deepen your knowledge. Consider too any colleagues or other team members who may be traveling with you. This training will take the edge off any anxiety they may be feeling about the upcoming trip and provide them with an extra advantage. If you are still unsure whether our product is right for you, please email us your questions or concerns and we will be happy to consider your situation.

I'm interested in the tutorial, but how can I justify the cost or how can I justify it to my organisation as a necessary training expense?
We believe the price of our tutorial compares more than favourably with the expensive alternative of having trainers or consultants come to your organisation to provide on-site training. Based on research, the estimated direct cost of on-site training in the USA, Ireland and the UK are as follows:

USA: approx. $4,000 per day + travel expenses
Ireland: approx. 2440 euros per day + travel expenses
UK: approx. 1800 pounds sterling per day + travel expenses

Remember also the additional hidden cost of all employees needing to be simultaneously absent from their desks in order to partake in such on-site training. This may require schedules being reshuffled, projects put on hold for a day or two, ringing phones left unattended - all ultimately costing the organisation money. Any department working within a restricted budget cannot afford such luxuries. Our e-based tutorial, on the other hand, offers the convenient alternative of being able to take the training at a time appropriate for the individual and the organisation. Compared to the prices above, we offer a far more cost-effective and flexible solution. Apart from the above direct and indirect costs, there is also the potential cost of failure to do business correctly in Japan As the saying goes "education costs money, but ignorance costs more money." We consider this purchase to be an investment in your business' goals. You should too.

Will I learn any Japanese by doing the tutorial?
You will learn some basic Japanese phrases, but the tutorial is not a language course. We have therefore limited ourselves to training you in only the basic phrases which may be of use to you in your dealings with your Japanese counterparts.
